MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to all organizations of psychosocial rehabilitation
agencies, practitioners and interested organizations and individuals
dedicated to promoting, supporting and strengthening community-oriented
rehabilitation services and resources for persons with psychiatric
disabilities.
Persons who are below 18 years of age must have the written consent of
their parent or guardian.
Applications for membership will be decided upon by the Committee. There
are three types of membership as follows:
- Member Organizations
Any agency or organization which subscribes to the
objects of the Society as set forth in the Constitution may become an
organizational member. Organizational members are known as Member
Organizations. The Chief Executive Officer or equivalent of each Member
Organization shall be designated as that organization's official
representative within the Society. The Chief Executive Officer may
delegate representation to an employee, board member or person served by
the organization. The official representative shall have the rights to one
vote and to hold office in the Committee. Employees and board members of
the agency and persons served by the agency are considered Society members
through the Member Organization. Such members do not receive a vote.
- Individual Member
Any individual who subscribes to the mission and
purposes of the Society as set forth in the objects of the Constitution
may become an Individual Member. Employees, board members or persons
served by a Member Organization shall not acquire Individual Member status
by virtue of their affiliation with the Member Organization. Individual
Members who are 21 years of age and above shall have the rights to one
vote and to hold office in the Committee.
- Associate Member Organization
Any organization, department or other
entity subscribing to the mission and purposes of the Society as set forth
in the objects of the Constitution and does not provide mental health
related services. Associate Member Organizations shall not be eligible to
vote or to hold office in the Committee.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
There is currently no entrance fee. An annual subscription of $20.00 is
currently payable by all members. Retirees pay half the annual
subscription.
HOW TO JOIN US
Anyone wishing to join the Society should complete the official membership
application form and submit it to the Secretary. Applicants must be
nominated and seconded by an existing member
